IN THE ARTS PHOTOGRAPHY BY THOMAS J. KRAUSE

I was born and raised in the north side of Chicago, IL. My interest in photography started in high school followed by 2 years of study in the arts at Columbia College in Chicago. For 35 years, I have specialized in black and white infrared and art photography.  My first trip to Arizona, what was to be just a “vacation”but turned out to be a passion for the desert and a longing to move to beautiful, Arizona. Here. I have called Tucson home for 5 years now. I have enjoyed putting all my expertise in photographing the beautiful and mystical landscapes in my travels.  I have also enjoyed researching all information I can about the variety of plants and cactus which has sparked a new interest for me.  I have been making jellies and syrups from mesquite trees and prickly pear cactus for quite some time now.  Folks from Arizona, across the country and as far as Italy have enjoyed this delicacy as much as I enjoy making them.
